Notices
What to know in Utah.
- Utah raised its minimum liability limits for policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 (HB 113, 2023). For policies issued or renewed on or before December 31, 2024, the minimums were $25,000, $65,000 and $15,000, and many websites still show those older numbers.
- Utah's PIP statute (section 31A-22-307) also lists funeral, burial or cremation benefits up to $1,500 per person and a $3,000 death benefit payable to heirs, in addition to medical expenses, income loss and household services.
- A 2026 bill (SB 199) proposed amendments to section 31A-22-304, the minimum-limits section. Confirm the current text of the code.
