Notices

What to know in Pennsylvania.

  • A lapse in coverage may result in suspension of your vehicle registration. Insurers must report policy terminations to PennDOT, and drivers are responsible for proving continuous coverage.
  • Some companies offer a combined single limit of $35,000 that satisfies both the bodily injury and property damage minimums.
  • Pennsylvania law requires a premium reduction of at least 5% for each vehicle on a private passenger policy when all named policyholders are 55 or older and have completed a PennDOT-approved driver improvement course.
  • Pennsylvania drivers also choose between limited tort and full tort options. Ask your insurer and read the department's Auto Insurance Guide.
