What to know in Arkansas.
- The Arkansas Insurance Department's auto brochure explains that you are required by law to purchase liability protection only. Other coverages are voluntary unless required by a lienholder.
- Anyone who buys liability coverage will be offered uninsured motorist coverage. To buy the property damage part, you must first buy the bodily injury part, and a $200 deductible applies to uninsured motorist property damage.
- The Department's brochure says that for the medical payments, wage-loss and death benefits that insurers offer, you must reject the coverage in writing if you do not want it.
